Majlis 52 - Carrie Wareham

Number 52 in a series of paintings entitled ‘Majlis’  to reflect the window of opportunity for Emiratis to meet together and talk, question, request, seek help and guidance within their Majlis, and who also have access to their leaders. It also reflects the windows of opportunities that exist in the UAE. The paintings are predominantly red in most cases, which reflects the traditional main colour of a Majlis tent. Carrie uses a lot of gold with the red to reflect the perceptions of the wealth and positivity of the nation. She has experimented with other colours, using browns in this one, with hints of turquoise. These pieces are heavily textured.

This is a very popular series and this is one of the few remaining pieces at the moment.
